Greetings ladies, gentlemen, true believers, whovians, movie lovers, gamers and whatever other fanbases one subscribes to. You appear to have found yourself on my site. Whether you have appeared here by accident, was dragged in by the hypnotic term known as ‘Batman’ or was simply browsing the interwebs, I once again greet you.
This is an outlet really for yours truly. I have no pretence of being a good writer, am not phased by reader numbers, and only care about expunging the endless urge to talk about film. To save my friends and family from the constant barrage of personal reviews and recommendations (although honestly are still likely to continue) I have decided to instead put it all here. So, hopefully frequently, I will be posting reviews of whatever I see or play that week, personal spotlights on special films of mine, sometimes (if I feel brave enough) commentary on particular issues in the film industry and whatever else I decide to do.
Ok, so a bit of background on me. I am a man of many tastes, whether that be perceived as ‘good’ or ‘bad’, whose interest stretch far and wide to many varying realms of entertainment. Granted, my one true love will always be film, but on the odd occasion I may feel strongly enough to talk about games or television if the right piece of media strikes. I love basically all types of films – indie, blockbuster, comic book, niche, classic. Some of my favourite films range from historical like Schindler’s List and 12 Years a Slave, to unique ones like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Buried. I do have a personal affinity with both Pixar and comic book movies due to both being a big influence on my childhood – Toy Story, Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo are pretty much my childhood personified. Some of my favourite directors range from Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, Ridley Scott (sometimes), Brad Bird and Edgar Wright. Nolan is a personal favourite of mine mostly due to The Dark Knight, but I’ll probably get to that in a personal spotlight.
I’d prefer not to say much about myself personally because, well, the internet. But if you pay attention I’m sure I’ll probably let a few details slip. In the meantime, check out what else I’ve posted (unless you’ve arrived in the period where this is the only thing here. Good for you) and I hope you enjoy. And remember:
